Scheduling across borders just got a whole lot faster. Google announced a long-awaited improvement to the Google Calendar time zone picker.

Gone are the days of scrolling through an endless list of (GMT+05:30) India Standard Time or trying to remember which time zone a specific country falls under. With the new update, you can simply type the name of a city or country to instantly find and set the correct time.

What’s Changing? Instant Searchable Time Zones

This update introduces a modern, searchable interface to every part of Google Calendar where a time zone can be selected. Whether you are a digital nomad, a global project manager, or just trying to call family abroad, the process is now seamless.

• Meeting Scheduling: When creating a new event, you can search for your client's city (e.g., Tokyo or Berlin) to ensure the invite arrives at the right time for them.
• Secondary Time Zones: If you work with a team in another country, you can search for that country to add a second time zone column to your main calendar grid view.
• World Clock Configuration: Setting up your sidebar world clock is now as simple as typing Canada or Paris.

• Rapid Release Domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days) began on March 12, 2026.
• Scheduled Release Domains: Full rollout (1–3 days) starting on April 5, 2026.
• Availability: Available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google account users.
• Platform: Currently rolling out to Google Calendar on the web.
